Introduction
Beach weddings in Goa require multiple permissions from state and local authorities. Recent changes in regulations and fees make early approvals essential.
Permit Authorities & Guidelines
- The Goa Tourism Department serves as the nodal body for tourism-related event permissions.
- Events on public or unlicensed beach land require clearance from the State Level Permissions Committee (SLPC) under a single window system.
Fee Structure & Recent Changes
- Goa’s Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) raised beach wedding fees to Rs 1 lakh per day, replacing the earlier 5-day permit system.
- Concessions exist for government and charitable events.
- In the past, a one-time flat rate (e.g. Rs 7 lakh for 40 weddings over 3 years) was proposed to simplify repeat weddings.
